Welcome to my stop in the Dragons of Nova Blog Tour

****************************

Cvareh returns home to his sky world of Nova with the genius crafter Arianna as his temperamental guest. The mercurial inventor possesses all the Xin family needs to turn the tides of a centuries-old power struggle, but the secrets she harbors must be earned with trust — hard to come by for Ari, especially when it comes to Dragons. On Nova, Ari finds herself closer to exacting vengeance against the traitor who killed everything — and everyone – she once loved. But before Ari can complete her campaign of revenge, the Crimson Court exposes her shadowed past and reveals something even more dangerous sparking between her and Cvareh.

While Nova is embroiled in blood sport and political games, the rebels on Loom prepare for an all-out assault on their Dragon oppressors. Florence unexpectedly finds herself at the forefront of change, as her unique blend of skills — and quick-shooting accuracy — makes her a force to be reckoned with. For the future of her world, she vows vengeance against the Dragons.

Before the rebellion can rise, though, the Guilds must fall.

*I will do my best to avoid spoliers for those that have not read the first book.

Dragons of Nova picks up right where The Alchemists of Loom left off.  Like the first book this is told from multiple points of view.  Arianna, Cvareh and Florence are the main three with the introduction of Cvareh’s sister Patra and the Yveun the King of Nova.

Petra and the King are and have always been rivals because they belong to different Dragon Houses. Petra wants to see Yveun dead because she doesn’t agree with the decisions he makes and the power he holds over everyone.  Seeing how these two viewed each other and despised each other and their views was like watching a very detailed and intricate sword dual.

Meanwhile back on Loom, Florence is still working on gathering the different guilds to come together and face the Dragons.  She is facing roadblock after roadblock, but she never gives up.  I have come to admire Florence more and more in this book.  She is like the Vagabond in the book, never really belonging to any one guild, but seeing and learning about herself and the guild views by interacting (as much as the guilds let her) with them.  I have a feeling that in the 3rd book, Florence will truly shine and have a major impact on the resistance against the Dragons.

There is a good amount of violence in this book, and it fell in pretty well with what was going on in Nova, and how their socitety works.  You also see how the Fenthri, Chimera, and non ranked dragonsare treated.  If you are not a ranked member of the houses, you don’t seem to matter.

I highly enjoyed this book and I cannot wait to see what happens to Arianna, Florence and Cvareh in the third book The Rebels of Gold.
